Terms and Conditions

3.1 What Pathler Offers

Pathler provides career guidance, job application support, and related tools. This includes:

• Presenting information and guidance to help you make career decisions
• A profile where you can store CV-style information (work history, education, skills, and related fields)
• Optional import of a CV PDF to pre-fill profile fields using automated extraction
• A visual CV preview and optional public share link when you enable Publish CV
• Tools to save roles and record interview preparation notes

3.2 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Pathler. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3.3 Account Registration

Some features require you to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. Please notify us immediately at matt@pathler.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.

3.4 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that is false, misleading, or that you do not have the right to share
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its underlying systems
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce any part of the Service without our written permission
• Circumvent rate limits (for example by creating multiple accounts to abuse CV import)

3.5 CV PDF import

If you use Import from CV (PDF), you confirm that you have the right to upload the file and that you have read our warning that most profile fields will be replaced. Extracted data is produced by automated tools (Anthropic’s API) and may be incomplete or incorrect — for example LinkedIn PDF exports often omit degree subjects. You must review every field before saving.

CV import is limited (currently 3 imports per account per day, subject to change) and may be unavailable if the feature is not configured or is temporarily down.

3.6 Public CV sharing

When Publish CV is enabled, anyone with your public link can view the information described in our Privacy Policy (Section 5.2). You control whether your CV is published. Pathler Ltd is not responsible for how others use information you choose to make public.

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of any content you upload to Pathler, including your CV and career information ("Your Content").

4.2 Licence to Us

By uploading Your Content, you grant Pathler Ltd a limited licence to store, process, and (when you enable Publish CV) display it as described in these terms and our Privacy Policy, solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership over Your Content.

4.3 Your Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload is accurate and that you have the right to share it. Please do not upload content that belongs to a third party without their permission.

4.4 Deleting Your Content and Account

You can delete your account and personal data at any time from Account settings using "Delete my account". This removes your profile (including CV fields and work history), saved roles, interview answers, CV import records, and login credentials from the Service.

5.1 For Guidance Only

The information and career guidance provided through Pathler is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional career, legal, or financial advice. You should use your own judgement and, where appropriate, seek professional advice before making important career decisions.

5.2 Accuracy

While we aim to keep the information on Pathler accurate and up to date, we make no guarantees about its completeness or suitability for your specific circumstances.

5.3 AI-Assisted Content

Some of the content on Pathler — including role guides, interview examples, terminology, career path descriptions, statistics, and related explanatory material — may have been drafted or edited with the help of automated tools, including artificial intelligence ("AI-assisted content").

We review material before publication where we can, but errors, outdated information, or wording that does not fit your situation may still appear. AI-assisted content can sound confident while being incomplete or incorrect.

You are responsible for how you use the Service. Before relying on any information for applications, study choices, eligibility, salary expectations, visas, or other important decisions, you should:

• Check facts against official or primary sources (for example employers, regulators, universities, professional bodies, and gov.uk)
• Use your own judgement and seek professional advice where appropriate
• Treat interview sample answers and career suggestions as examples, not guaranteed outcomes

Pathler Ltd does not accept responsibility for loss or detriment arising from reliance on AI-assisted content or other information on the Service, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law (see Section 9).

5.4 CV import and automated extraction

CV PDF import uses a third-party AI service to suggest field values. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular application. You are responsible for verifying extracted information before saving or sharing your profile.

This feature is separate from the editorial content described in Section 5.3. By importing a CV, you instruct us to send that file to our processor for extraction as described in our Privacy Policy.

8.1 Links to other websites

Pathler includes links to external websites — for example training providers, regulators, professional bodies, and employers mentioned in our Resources, Terminology, and industry sections. These links are provided for your convenience and information.

We do not control third party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse that organisation or its services. You use external sites at your own risk and should read their terms and privacy policies.

8.2 Services that run Pathler

To provide Pathler, we use third party services including:

• Supabase — for user accounts, authentication, password reset emails, and storing your profile, work history, saved roles, interview answers, and CV import metadata in a secure database
• Anthropic — only when you choose CV PDF import, to extract structured data from your uploaded file
• A hosting provider — to serve the website at pathler.co.uk and keep it available and secure
• Upstash Redis or Vercel KV (production) — short-lived security and rate-limit state, as described in our Privacy Policy

These providers process personal data on our behalf as described in our Privacy Policy, including Section 7 (Third Party Services). By using the Service, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by these providers for those purposes.

We may add or change providers as the Service grows (for example analytics tools, email services, or file storage). We will update our Privacy Policy when that affects how your data is handled.

8.3 Cookies and optional analytics

We use essential cookies and similar storage (including through Supabase) so the site can remember your login and your cookie preferences. Optional analytics cookies are offered through our cookie banner; we do not enable optional analytics unless you consent. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8.4 Content you link to

If you add an external image URL to your profile, that image is loaded from the third party host you specify. We are not responsible for that host’s availability, terms, or use of data relating to that request.
